Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Well I believe the WH Express is for sale again (at least it was in the Classifieds a while back). Apparently it has greatly increased in value since I sold it :)

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Well the Goat is delivered. TexAndy and I made a 2200 mile round trip to AL to deliver it over the weekend. Everything on the trip went fine until it was time to start it to take it off the trailer at the new owner's house and, of course, it wouldn't start. Turned out one of the batteries had...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

I was finally feeling back to "pre-treatment" levels and then got hit with a bad case of bronchitis thanks to our abundance of oak pollen. Another week of feeling crappy and I should be back to "normal."

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

With mixed emotions I must report the sale of the Goat. It was purchased by another SS member but I'll let him announce that, if he decides to do so. I'll get to take it for one more ride from here to AL some time next week so it'll be almost half way back to where it started in NC. Luckily...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Thanks Tom. I'll still be hanging around. Someone has to bug you to keep working on yours :) As I'm sure there's a spot of yellow somewhere on that tranny you recovered we can always have comfort in knowing the Waffle House Express is still in the family. Now rustle me up someone to buy it!

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Probably the last auto show for me and the Goat. She is currently up for sale to cover some medical expenses but if I'm lucky it'll be around until the Central TX Airshow May 6. If you're looking for a M561 here's your chance to skip the hard stuff...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Hopefully I can take some better pics tomorrow. The sun was a bit too bright for me to see what I was shooting with my phone this afternoon. There is an extremely nice deuce there and a bobber. Not sure we're going to get any more. Lots of nice custom and classic cars.

Set up for AutoRama. Hiding in the foliage for camo.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Actually since the driveway is sloped a bit that might work. But then I'd need to leave the tailgate down and all the air would get out.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Unfortunately I have no indoor parking for it at this time. I keep the cab covered since I don't have a top but haven't covered the back before. Guess I'll need to see about buying more tarps and bungees.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Headed to AutoRama this weekend but had to drain the pool first.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Keith_J stopped by today to help me rewind the winch cable. I took it off last February before the Goat got blasted and with everything going on with painting it then the motor crapping out we never got a chance to reinstall it. The deuce worked great as a drag weight to keep tension on the...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Guess I lucked in to doing it right.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Well since mine is melted I could probably put it to use :)

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

I believe I got the panel from MuttParts. They were reasonably priced but definitely not OEM in quality. Thanks for the offer on the hood but think I'd probably be in about the same predicament. It opens and closes so I'll live with it that way unless I just stumble across one that's near...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Keith_J stopped by today and welded up the corner of the engine cover. We got everything back in line on the cover itself but it's still bent and sits cockeyed on the Goat. Outside of being able to twist it back or replace it I'm going to have to live with it the way it is. Since the weather...

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Nothing so far. Guess I'll be going topless for a while longer.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

I wouldn't but he likes to order them because it makes me gag and he thinks its funny.

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Yeh I wouldn't even try. Keith_J is the expert around here with lots of alum/weld experience. I just need to be able to bribe him with lunch and hope he can clear his schedule (bleu cheese bacon burger waiting in case he sees this).

Working On The M561 Gama Goat

Well it's called a Blackout Light Guard so.....(I'll give you a hint: it guards the...). Here's m38inmaine's with the actual light mounted:
