curious as to why you went with the Artec and not the Red Barn Custom or Stinky Fab mounts? I went with RBC - fits great. Not sure what the price on the Artec is, but seems like it would be more than the other two. Ultimately, I went with the RBC over the Stinky Fab (similar to the Artec)...
may i suggest spending a couple bucks and saving a lot of fab time? I've done a lot of looking and i'm going pre-fab route on my other project. I bought two of these units from Red Barn Customs. The fit is good and they're built quite well. They'll make a great platform for the steering...

this was a concern of mine also, since my hydraulic system is going through my hydro-boost unit. i put a large oil cooler with thermostatically controlled fan in the system, and a 1 gal resevoir. this should keep good temperature...

again, this is a manual transmission equipped vehicle - a loss of engine power does not mean you have a loss of pumping power unless you take it out of gear. the only way you would have catastrophic pumping loss is:
hydraulic pump belt loss (not an issue with gear-driven units)

wow - looks like a servo-driven worm rod. crazy, but i see no reason that it couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't work. servo capability and reliability is increasing about as fast as memory chips.

Jesse, i think what you are refering to is similar to a 'velocity fuse' that is used in industrial hydraulic applications such as on machines.
my understanding is that when the fluid exceeds a specific fluid velocity, the fuse closes. this is used to prevent whipping hoses and fluid injection...
