Yesterday after steaks at the VFW, Doc and I checked the training schedule and it called for a recon of the Armor Museum Consolidation Point.
They now have a very nice facility to work on stuff on Sand Hill...Fort Benning and are massing the stuff they've had stashed all over post...
Fort Benning has some VERY nice elementary schools IMO.:D
None of the BS allowed like happens in some of the public schools.:D

Many of the vehicles have been taken out and placed on display around the new Armor complex..that place is HUGE and just friggin awesome!!:shock:
Wednesday we (CAMO) are supposed to meet some fellers with the museum and coordinate helping him remove a crossdrive from an M4. Seems like an M4 is...
Made a surprise visit to the assembly area on Sand Hill today (Ft Benning) where some of the Ft Knox armour and stuff is being staged and the gate was open!!:-D:-D:-D
Showed a young Captain my retiree ID card and asked if he would let me take some pics...he said...you go take all the pics ya...

I really hate to downplay the new Infantry Museum but I gotta tell you....so far everyone I have taken to the new museum that had toured the old museum...liked the old one better:!::!: (Including me)
Maneuver Center
It's part of the BRAC thingy crash. Fort Knox is getting several other units and the Armor School etc., is moving to Fort Benning.:D
Now...instead of "Home of the Infantry", Fort Benning is called the "Maneuver Center of Excellence".:beer:

I know the feeling very well Sir. Enlisted (delayed) Oct 71, started basic Jan 72...at Ft. Knox...194th Armor Bde.
Wised up and went to Infantry AIT[thumbzup]

I just hope the tankers and the grunts don't start fighting each other here like we did at Fort Lewis in the early 70's rofl
