    I did it on my M1008, one of the first things I did. When I got the M1009 I went to do it and found out the PO had already done it.

    I did the converson because I changed the flex plate and had the starter rebuilt. After reading here about starters burning up I did not want to have to do it again. Thanks Doghead for a inexpensive fix that potentially saves hours of repair work and a few hundred $$$.
