    Now that your tank is all clean, you should use some tank sealer like "Eastwood" company sells.

    The sulphur in the fuel reacts with the zinc in the galvanizing creating deposits in the injection pumps and the injectors. Also the fuel pumps. Also never store your diesel in galvanized fuel cans. That's a shame about that Scout ! There where not many made.

    That's correct. You never run diesel in a galvanized tank. The outside can be coated, but never the inside.

    No diesel engine has a galvanized tank as the diesel will react with the zinc. That's why most all over the road trucks use aluminium tanks. Our busses use stainless steel.

    Totally agree !!! Also Bio-Bore is great stuff to keep in your tank at all times ! A little goes a long way.
