what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Far lighter then my Ingersol Rand 1" impact. That thing weighs in at 30 Ibs. I had some Lug nuts on my old REO M35 that just would not come off with my 3/4" impact. They had been on the truck for decades before I got the truck. So I had to bust them down with the Ingersol Rand. I think I gave...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

The new Milwaukee High Torque is far superior to any tool out there. I own two of them and really like having the ability to bust free really stuck bolts up to 3/4" ! It can take off some of my Deuce lug nuts too. Really don't like using it for that since it really is not designed for that kind...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

It seems they have gotten quite a few engineers from major tool companies to redesign their tool line. Their "Air Guns" are now designed by a Ingersol Rand engineer, and their Welders are designed by a Lincoln Electric engineer. Who knows where they got the hand tool engineer from. Maybe...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Speaking of new tool lines. Harbor Freight has started their "Icon" tool line. They say it will compete with the big boys like MAC and Snap-On . I bought a set of wrenches to try out. They are a little bigger then the Snap-On wrenches (thicker) but overall they look and feel pretty good. Their...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Yes. All M18 size tools will except all M18 batteries, though the smaller tools handle weird with a large battery hanging off it.

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Here's a couple of pictures of my little Milwaukee Impact tool family. The twelve amp hour batteries make a huge difference in performance.

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

After I came back from trade school I lived with my parents for a year. I was working at IHC in Seattle. One day after coming home from work I saw my father and brother outside working on his old beater Dodge. When I came over they wherein the process of hitting my "Snap-On" breaker bar with a...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

In just the last few years, the electric impact manufactures (especially Milwaukee) have designed really great impacts with abilities that now rival air impacts. I own one of the first "corded" electric impacts from Milwaukee. It's a nice tool, but not much power. Now the "cordless" ones from...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Well personally I don't like abusing my tools, so I will be using the correct tool (1" impact) to remove my lug nuts with. Of course I've seen a lot of "hillbilly" mechanics use all kinds of tools to perform jobs they where never meant to. It's a free country (at least for now) so do what you...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Geared multipliers are a great tool, but you must use a manual breaker bar or ratchet to use on them. Almost everyone says to "not" use an impact wrench on them. In fact I've never seen a multiplier that allowed using a impact wrench on it.

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Your correct to take the factory numbers with a "grain of salt" . Also what a lot of people don't seem to understand is a 1/2" impact with great torque numbers still is not the same as a 3/4" or 1" impact with numbers very close. I know the heavy duty 1/2" Milwaukee is suppose to handle all this...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Well I have a 30 CFM Ingersol-Rand compressor. It's great, but recently I took off all my wheels to have them galvanized and I used my 1" long shaft air impact gun to remove the lug nuts. The impact weighs in at 30Ibs. After removing and then installing all those tires my arms where falling off...

what cordless tool are you using to get your lug nuts off

Yes. This topic has had it's problems, but I'll add an interesting note. When I first took off my Deuce's wheels they had anti-seize on the lug nuts. I bought this truck right out of Fort Lewis/McCord . No one but the military had touched it. So that means they too used anti-seize on lug nut...
