I prefer steel. Brass just snaps too easy especially with any vibrations. air dryers do vibrate. You may need a bushing or two to reduce or increase. But. You may need all new fittings cause the Wabco unit uses Boss type metric threads. The AD9 will use pipe. Unless they used adapters
Go with this

Use an AD9 air dryer. It's common commercial

Not sure if the heater is 24v or not if it is then you will have to swap the heater...
Yes russ they bolt to either the 4way or 3 bolt pattern. There are some on ebay as of late. You can use the 12v heater unit since it doesn't get used that often in your neck of the woods anyway. According to skf the heater is omni volt anyway
You do not need it. simply block the port off. I did this on the Wabco driers as well. There are Holset compliant and non holset compliant Turbo 2000 dryers as well the compatible has a yellow tag. The non compatible has a red tag.
The Ad9 is what came on the A3 deuces so it should be fine. They are common on Amazon and Ebay. Parts are available since it is used on most fleet trucks. It's about price. I went with the turbo 2000 based on price and the internal 24v heater
Unloader is for the little line that was on your old dryer. That goes up to the governor. The purge port you want to put a pipe plug in. That is for a purge tank which you dont have
It is straight forward. All your existing fittings will interchange with the skf air dryer. Just make sure the skf dryer has a yellow tag on the front. It means ss compressor compatible. The red tag means non holset ir ss compressor compatible
It works well. Loud blow off though. It will...
