What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Not sure, but I'll post the picture. I made a little bracket and just bolted it to the side there. I did some digging in my amazon account history and found what is was. It is a " ACI 199600 Universal Washer Pump Kit" It was cheap and it is easily mounted and wired in.

Not to poo poo your headers, but i think I'm more impressed with that sweet wooden engine stand, lol. I did an oil change and cleaned up some wiring under the hood. I noticed that for the last two years at least, the 12v supply wire had the fusible link at the power point on the firewall...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Had the driver alternator front bearing sieze. Went in and replaced the bearings in both alternators. While I was waiting on parts, I replaced the driveshaft universal joints.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I finally got to sleeving my winch power cables. I ordered some of that braided plastic expandable wire sleeve. it wasn't a bad job to do, just had to unbolt one side and slip the sheath over it and a piece of heat shrink for each end. A few zip ties and that's that.

I got my rubber brake hoses put on. As soon as I finished bleeding the brakes, the master cylinder started leaking from the rear. So I got to put a master cylinder in as well. And bleed the entire brake system again. At least my brakes are better than ever now.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

The little boxes are self resetting 50 Amp circuit breakers wired parallel. I can only assume that it would trip them all at a 150 Amp load. It does seem a little janky, but that's how it came. It has ever so slight amount of room, about a quarter inch, between the wire and filler neck. My...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Right now the main power cable is running above the fan shroud zip tied to the coolant reservoir hose. I think its ok for now, and I hope the circuit breakers would blow if it did short. I do need to do a little more wire management down below. It's just sort of running on top of the front of...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I finally got my winch installed. I put in a 12k badlands from Harbor Freight in between the front frame rails behind the bumper. I measured the width between the rails, and cut the mount to fit. One of the bolt holes wasn't quite right so I had to dust off my welder and fill about a half inch...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I finally put the heater core in I've been sitting on since last fall. The original one wasn't leaking internally but the hose barb was mangled when I bought the thing and i could never get it sealed right. I stuffed in some foam on each side of it so it would be sealed good. Also figured this...

I finished up my installation of the Off Road Design steering brace. A few tips for anyone else. You'll have to oval out the holes in the bracket on the front of the cross member for the front bolts to line back up once you sandwich the front brace in. The rear brace hits the trans cooler hard...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I just finished up replacing the drag link tie rods and the upper kingpin bushings on the 1028. The driver side upper kingpin bushing was cracked into two pieces. The one on the passenger side was fine. The new springs were about 5mm taller than the old ones. Hopefully this will eliminate the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I installed a separate washer pump as mine was broken when i bought it. Had to adjust the nozzle up, it was spraying straight at the bottom of the windshield. Managed to make my wipers park normally again in the meantime. I tried to put on new transmission mounts, but I got two different...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I changed out the Power steering and hydroboost pressure hoses off of my power steering pump. I used the "sunsong" brand off of rockauto. They are crimped well, are bent pretty close. Only a tiny wiggle was necessary to bolt them to the tab at the bottom of the master cylinder. My old ones...

I bought it from corvette central through amazon. The corvette central part number is 353248. There are several corvette part places that make their variation of it. Zip Corvette sells it as CZ-804. Ecklers corvette its a 25-123609-1. Its a 1970-1982 frame rail to fuel pump hose. With...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I bought a corvette fuel line s hose recently and installed that and a new fuel pump on the 1028. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day after the last three weekends of rain around here. I replaced the nearly foot long hose that was on it with the new one, and it looks to me like it'll work...

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?173011-Tell-me-my-gears-are-shot-in-my-14-bolt&highlight= Check the video in my first post. If that is what you are describing, then it is normal for the rear locker to perform that way.

So I made a seal installer out of a piece of 1x4 maybe maple and a scrap of 2x6 with some all thread. I just put it on and tightened it down and it pulled it on in this time. Hopefully its in there good and I don't have any more leak on that side. I'm waiting on the axle shaft rtv to dry before...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Well I attempted and succeeded in putting in a rear axle hub oil seal on the1028. However I seemed to have bent the seal portion and ruined my new seal when I installed it. I put probably thirty miles on it today and came home to oil slung all over my rear rotor and up and down the inside of the...
