    Mark, I originally tried the rear Neg terminal, and the wire heated up quite a bit. When I switched it to the front battery Pos it stayed cool. I'm not sure but it may have contributed to my battery frying (not sure, I've been through multiple batts on this, until fixing the system with this mod).

    Yes, run it to the front battery positive. I'm guessing that hooking to the rear would have bad results.

    I found the 12v Leece Neville listed between $200-250, the alternator I used is about $100-120 new. Check with local wrecking yards that deal with commercial trucks. You may be able to find a good used LN 12v since it seems they were fairly common on a lot of bigger trucks. I guarantee this will...

    Btw, I vote we call this the Plan B Mod, since most of us 1010 owners have either tried or planned on trying different routes before finding this easy fix.

    Ok, it is not a direct boltup. The adjustment ear is about 1/2" too short, but nothing a simple homemade bracket couldn't fix. I haven't had a chance to do any readings on the voltage or amperage yet but hope to later tonight. It has put the factory dash gauge into the green for the first time...

    From the research I've done and hands on visual comparison it seems the AC/Delco Type 21and 22SI with the 4" mount is a direct bolt up replacement for the Leece Neville. I am in the middle of doing the Plan B mod with this alternator. I'll post my results soon.
