Thanks. good to see the old war horses getting to do what they were built for. she looks in her prime. looks like you have some parts to a m108?? another project?
This is just such an awesome truck. I love seeing it rigged out and you using it. I have seen Gin trucks used in oil and forestry but it seems rough terrain forklifts have replaced a lot of the applications. Still, I lust after your truck and shamelessly love it.
I love the way this truck has worked out. Useful and handsome--reminds me of what Red Green said about how women should find you. That rear view mirror would be nice to have in an M275. Where might I source one, if you don't mind me asking?
It will look great I think. 2 x 6 or similar? I saw one that had been modified at some point in its life and it had a steel deck. So I thought this was perhaps the way they came. Kind of like the sides of a deuce bed were just cut off.
I assume this will have parade duty mostly? Any place...
Not sure if this was asked before, my apologies if so. What are your plans for the bed--steel plate, diamond tread, wood, some combination of materials. not sure but I think the original what just flat steel plate. This is a great looking truck. Hats off for saving and the wonderful job...
Love that truck! Can't wait to see her fully finished. Thanks for preserving such a great piece of military history. All the details and all your hard work--awesome!
The gin pole version is a lot harder to use. The hiab makes picking and setting so much easier. Longer reach too. The only thing that would help the HIAB is a crane cable on the end. It just seems like loads might get a bit bouncing when fully extended. I suppose I best not hijack this...
I believe it is. He had some really cool vehicles. Wish I had more bucks at the time. Shipping things over the continental divide gets rather pricey. Glad it went to someone who appreciates it.
This is such an awesome truck. I wish I had a chance to see it up close. I got close to getting one but it had been converted to the HIAB crane. Such an awesome and useful truck. But you had to know how to rig it. What a great save! Sure hope you post a lot of restore pics.
