I wanted to give everyone an update since everyone talked up the Behr paint so heavily and I went ahead and bought some for experimenting. I left a similar post on a different thread here.
To conclude thus far:
The Premium Plus is the least expensive, the least glossy/the most flat...
Has anyone considered or tried doing a flat Premium Plus and then going over with something like Rustoleum Dead Flat Clear? I am planning to try this out on a test surface. It would be nice to be able to keep the zero-sheen of the flat but also be very durable.
Damn...you are right about the Premium Plus being flatter. I just called Behr to verify. I think for my case the added durability of the "flat" Dynasty will be worth it though.
I just called Behr to ask them about using e500 vs Dynasty. They said there's nothing better than Dynasty currently as far as durability goes. Especially the 10-year guarantee against UV fading.
Well I think it goes without saying it's not going to feel exactly like CARC. CARC is a polyurethane and also has chemical resistant additives(unsure if that affects texture). It's also typically sprayed with a conventional spray setup where BEHR is a latex paint and many people here brush or...
I pulled up some datasheets. I wanted to look and see if in fact you're right that the cheaper Behr Premium has better flatness than what is supposed to be Behr's flagship product, Marquee(well now they have Dynasty...it just came out within the couple of years).
