Well it is winter currently and so we have some of our vehicles, including the Proud, in covered storage. Events will start up again come spring.
We are making progress on building a full time facility to house all the vehicles and display them.
To learn more about our progress being made on...
You all are welcome.
At some events we let people enter the gunbox, it is somewhat difficult to allow people to do so with how it is currently set up.
At this particular show we allowed people to climb into the back section of the truck and look inside the gunbox.
She did make the 25 mile(one...
AMGeneral, thanks for your input. If I recall correctly we did check many of those things, as well as the first thing we checked was the fuel filters. Needless to say it looked like we had pulled the filters out of the bottom of a lake while fishing. We then proceeded to cleaning the lines which...
Thank you Papabear, we are working on making sure the story can be told. We don't want people to forget.
We will continue to maintain the Proud American and keep her in top order.
Update on the Proud.
We went to fire up the Proud to get it ready for show season, when we tried it would not start. Cranking fine, but nothing else. We brought in our mechanic that helps us work on Diesel vehicles, with the help of him we diagnosed that due to improper maintenance of the fuel...
Thank you for your concern.
We will be sure to post as many updates as possible on here on our advance towards a full permanent museum and display for the Proud American.
The Proud is in covered storage currently. Once we finish putting the building up she will be placed in there to be further out of the weather, and to help make our current facilities more organized.
We are a mobile museum, as well as our temporary facilities.
Mobile: We have a military...
So she is part of our Vietnam displays.
Currently Freedom Vehicles is more of a mobile museum. We are working currently on acquiring a piece of land approximately 120 acres or more to build completely permanent housing, restoration, and interactive display facilities.
The storage arrangement...
I will get some pictures and post em up here.
Sadly The Proud is out of commission currently due to a fuel issue that has yet to be resolved.
Been so busy these last few months.
Priority right now is setting up a new permanent building to house The Proud, DUKW, and two WCs in. Gotta get it put...
Thats pretty remarkable. I know there are lots of people who say trucks never came back from serving over there, but in our collection we have at least 3 trucks that we are pretty darn sure were in country, and of not, at least over seas.
The Freedom Vehicles Military Outpost was a great event this year and the Proud American Gun Truck contributed to it being such an awesome event.
Here are some pictures of the gun crew right after the Parade in Provo Utah on the fourth. She even had to tow a truck back.
The Proud American was on display being honored and helping teach about the sacrifice of the Proud American Gun Crew this last weekend at Orem, Summer-fest in Orem, UT.
Here are some pictures:
This is all great information, sounds like there are so many fun stories about the Proud that we will continue to tell.
I will agree riding forward in the Gun Box is fun.
Orem City Memorial Day Program 2017. First event with the Proud American in Utah was awesome.
The Gun Truck was a huge hit, the fire department thought it was awesome, and the kids loved it.
Ya, the way we diagnosed it was when you take the cap off the Master Cylinder and press the brake peddle, little bubbles should form, and there were none, so we took it off and checked it again, and then determined it needed rebuild or replacement, but since we didn't have the time to wait for a...
We replaced the Brake master cylinder today. When we got it home, after using no brakes, we had one of our mechanic friends who is also on this site, red, come and diagnose with us that the master cylinder was dead. He happened to have one because of the air brake conversion he is doing on his...
