1009 6.2 IP, lift pump

Is it bad on injector pump to run with no lift pump operating? I have an electric pump on mine and have it keyed to on but also have a manual switch I turn off when I glow it.Sometimes I forget to turn lift pump back on.It runs fine without it.But wonder if Im overworking IP.

I just turn off when I glow cold motor to cut down on draw from front batt.,sometimes I forget to turn lift pump back on.

If your battery can't handle that load, get a new battery.

I have optima redtops,they do fine and test well,but will probably switch to yellow tops before winter.I just switch off fuel pump because my 1009 starts cold and runs without lift pump running.I figured more juice for glowplugs.Then once its running turn fuel pump back on,but sometimes I forget. I have read somewhere our IPs are designed to run with no lift pump,as long as you are flat landing it.(no hills)
