'86 CUCV 1028. I was able to get a good deal on 35X12X17 tires. What backspacing would work for front and rear to make sure enough room for Dana 60 front and eventually disk rear rims. I don't want tires sticking out too far. For now it'll have no lift, cut out fenders. Anyone have any firsthand knowledge? 4-6?

Thanks

Stock backspacing is about 4.25" or so. Anything in the 4-5" range on a 17x8 should keep the wheels and tires under the fenders nicely.

My rims have 4.25" BS and my rear tires are almost even with the rear fenders. The front, of course, is a little wider.

Might I suggest some ProComp Rock Crawlers? Cheap, tough, and they don't look half bad! National Tire & Wheel is a great place to buy them from.
