12V and 24V alternators on 8.3L

A customer approached A&H Recon. Shop about 12V electrical needs in his M931. He was planning to use the M931 to plow his commercial contracts. I converted his plow pump to 24V to get him though the snow season. At the end of the season I designed a solution to his need for 12V and 24V power. He needed 12V power for a radio, charging ports, power for sander and lighting. The truck and plow pump will continue to run on 24V. The simplest solution was just to add a complete 12v system. I used a 22SI alternator, build custom brackets to mount it and put two group 31 batteries in the passenger side box.

Looks great! I will be doing something similar to my A1. I think a separate alternator and battery for 12v is the way to go. Nice work!

Looks very nice. Any chance of more pics of the brackets? or a front view of installed alternator?
I just did the 24v Delco 27si upgrade. How did you go about getting the right length belt? How will you route the belt with the
tensioner right there? Tensioner to top alt and then down?

Had the move the tensioner, machine a 8 groove pulley to match the 22si shaft. Works great.
