1970 m109 box mounting bracket question

Can anyone tell me what these small wall mount brackets are for, between the windows. What is the purpose of these..? Something had to be mounted on them as standard equipment.

They are upright brackets for bows so that you can install a cargo cover to disguise the 109 as a cargo truck from the air
