1970 M818 Winch

Went to Philly to pick up a complete Winch assy With my GMC + trailer. Driving doesn’t bother me … I’m retired…. Saw thousands of trucks between Mass. + Philly. Crazy out there. Well again yes my M818 50 truck is about to get a recovery winch when the outdoor weather is comfortable. Gonna disassemble all big parts / sandblast / paint. … install slowly. Yard is all ice now. Picture an operational winch by Fall 2025. Some of readers gave me hints way back… now I have a winch so I’m installing slow speed ahead. Have a brand new issue cable on a spool with no ends. Will show simple pictures of assy on trailer

Very happy for you! Wishing I could find the rest of the winch parts I need on this side of the States. So far I have driven 2330 miles for my rig, 1730 for my 3 MV generators, 800 for some spare parts, and 1470 for my S-280 shelter. Best wishes!

Now realize older stuff for older trucks are scarce. Somebody somewhere has watt you need if ya don’t give up. I like driving to new places. The roads/drivers just get a little crazy.
