Ft. Hood recovery, most fluids full and full tank of fuel
Bent driveshaft and missing items not listed (already covered in another thread)

Get to work to bring it back to life and discover the whole ignition wiring harness has been replaced. New fuse box and all.
Nothing hooked up.
No starter switch
No starter relay Guess they fried it at some point
Steering column had been removed. Was in but all bolts loose
NO CLUE whats missing. Pics on SS and the TM's are helping.
GEN2 was also toast
Brand new one on the way.

Get new starter switch, and do the starter relay upgrade as recommended by SS site

Dropped in two brand new Hawker batteries and cranked engine to bleed air from system and prime it.

Cranks fine, but starter will not disengage. Relay is working, you can hear it and a tester verifys it.
You could take key out and it will still stay cranking.
Off comes battery cable to shut off. reattache cable and its fine until you try to start again.

Followed the diagrams on battery hookup from the TM but it still sounds like it's not cranking fast enough.
Will test voltage to starter.
I'm thinking bad starter solenoid.

Also no horn or head/tail lights

GP light and WIF lights work. Blower motor works
You can hear the GP relay working also.

No fuel coming from vent on filter housing.
New filter, full fuel
Took off filter and cranked engine. it squirted fuel at first, then nothing.
Getting new fuel pump tomorrow.

IP Has power also.

It's a slow process and it will be fixed, but GEEZE!!!

This thing is kicking my butt
Not money wise, but makes my brain hurt

I knew this was a crapshoot, but I got my hands full with this one.

Should've paid more to get one that was already running and driving.

Somewhat unrelated but I once got a deuce from Ft Stewart GA. Even though every bolt was back in place and tight, there was nothing in the bellhousing. I mean nothing, no clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, release bearing or anything. If it was a joke, it was a good one!

Oh, I forgot

All but two bed bolts were gone.

......and when replaceing the glow plugs, most were swelled and two barely came out.
One broke off and had to remove injector to get it. FUN!

I wish this truck could talk...........
