Subj: MRCG Annual Event, 3-4 May, 2013
BT
The West Coast Military Radio Collectors Group will be holding its 18th annual muster, swap meet and field events on 3-4 May 2013. Early arrivals can set up on 2 May in the afternoon. This event includes equipment displays, operational demonstrations, field exercises, technical presentations, excessive eating, Mark 1, Mod O BS Sessions and general good fun.
The event is held at the Camp San Luis Obispo NCO Club on base in San Luis Obispo CA. Further details and updates as D-Day approaches may be found here:
Since this is an active National Guard base you will need your drivers license, registration and proof of insurance to enter the main gate.
This year we plan to coordinate with Coast Station KSM / KPH. They will be sending us special transmissions via both RATT and CW on commercial 4 and 6 MC frequencies with M-209 encrypted cypher groups. (Yes Virginia, that is legal on commercial circuits). Bring your RATT and CW gear and join in the fun.
This event also runs a good swap meet on Saturday morning to help you unload those gems you need to save from the landfill and provides the opportunity to bring some new ones home. Stop by and join in! The base also has a nice museum and outdoor aircraft display and there is lots to do in the local area including great parks and beaches.
