The 2020 MVMVC Weare Rally Is Canceled
This decision is made with an abundance of caution to protect our club members, their family, and friends from possible exposure to the Covid-19 Virus.
It was felt by those involved in the discussions that the changes necessary to the Rally to reliably maintain proper social distancing were just impractical or impossible.
This decision was reached after several months discussion (via online meetings) with the Board of Directors and club members of the MVMVC (Merrimack Valley Military Vehicle Collectors). The decision was made May 26th 2020 that it was impractical to proceed with Annual Summer Rally.
To confirm the 33rd Weare Summer Rally, scheduled to start Thursday JULY 23, 2020 and run through Saturday July 25, 2020 in WEARE, NH has been CANCELED.
Those of you who have already registered and paid we will be returning your money. If you paid by check we will send you back your check if recently received, or we will mail you a check, as possible. Those who paid by Paypal will received a refund through Paypal.
Here is a short list of factors going into the decision at this time:
The health and well being of our club members, their friends and family is just too important.
That we have deliberately kept the Rally affordable, which means it would be extremely easy for the fixed costs of the rally to exceed income from the Rally significantly. The Club has already lost significant income this year from parades being canceled.
The timing of this decision is also important, from June 1st we would start incurring significant liabilities for rental equipment, services, etc.
It was the consensus of the group that it is better to come back strong next year.
