Talked to the guy. Used it to pull people out at his mud bog track. A chain punched the radiator during a tow and overheated the engine enough to make the head gasket leak.
A couple more things I remembered. He has had it for three years. When asked about a title he said yes but didn't remember which state. I didn't press because I'm not personally interested in it. If it does have a title I doubt he ever tranferred it because it was only used off road. I didn't think to ask how bad it overheated.
