I'm thinking about adding a second set of batteries to a 5 ton and have a few questions. Is it worth it? I have a 5K generator on my truck and if the batteries go dead I can always charge them up with my battery charger. Then start the motor that way. If it is worth it to have a second set of batteries, should I keep them charged by adding an isolator or relay? Or, should I get a second alternator setup? Where can I get the mount for a second alternator? What brand alternator should I use?
