Hey Guys,

I have a T138 case from an 809 truck, it has the always-like PTO on the back, was wondering if taking it out of the equation is as simple a removing the PTO unit, and adding the cover plate to the housing? Not sure what the inner workings are like. Also, if anyone knows where I could find the cover plate it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Yes you can do that, the pto drive gear is set screwed to the transfer pto drive, you can leave it on or take it off, I would take it off to go along with the pto, also you will have to remove the oil line to the pto, just pull it and the fittings and then plug the hole. this oil line is part of the pto kit.
