Sup fellas,
I bought a 1984 Chevy M1009 that has the 6.2 diesel. The "War Wagon" had 48k miles on it & drove perfectly. I put about 5-6K miles on it for work in a couple of months, no problems whatsoever. Everything mechanically sound.
Until one day, the bottom radiator hose blew off and the Wagon overheated. I found out the radiator had some leaks and got it sealed. I believe the low fluid caused the hose to blow off.
The Wagon still runs, but I don't drive it at all because there is way too much pressure in the coolant system and I suspect a blown head gasket. Reason being, I blow white smoke only from the left side (not a whole cloud or anything but enough to notice) and there are bubbles in the radiator&resevoir.
I replaced the oil recently and there is NO milky substance so that's good from what I've read.
I am asking my steel soldier guys for some links/videos to replace it myself, what type of gaskets to buy, helpful tips, etc. I have a week off from work and would love to bring it back to work (I work in the oil&natural gas pipeline industry and 4x4 indestructible vehicles are required)
Any help is appreciated!
