A3 Brakes Dragging-Pedal does not return to home position

Have noticed my A3 seemed to be a bit down on power. Seemed to be weaker on the brakes as well. Had it on a 40 mile trip laden with heavy logs. When I got to my farm, I could smell brakes-saw a bit of smoke coming from rear drums. Brake dragging has been the culprit.
The brake pedal is not returning to its home position. If I pull it back with my toe, everything works fine. If I stop on a slight hill, truck stays put-I pull the brake pedal all the way up and she starts to roll.
Question-is this possibly a simple weak spring return issue at pedal or something worse like an air pack. Of note-all of my hubs seem to have been hot after the long drive which makes me believe it may be a simple spring issue.
Has this happened to anybody else? If so, how did you solve it?

Haven't experienced that, but I'd start with the easy stuff first. TM 9-2320-386-24-1-1 0163 00 There's a grease fitting in the linkage too.
