On some pages I get this annoyance from Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1 running on Windows XP:

"Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page"

This little note appears at the top of the content window. When I tell it to get the plugin, it can't find it and does not say what plugin it is.

What plugin might this be?

an example thread is:

I believe it is a recent thing as it just started a few weeks ago and does not do it on the workplace computer. Not that I would ever, ever access non-work related sites while at work, or anything.

Same here. I think it is something to do with an embedded quicktime movie, as you can still click on it and watch it, it just won't show up in the post. How to fix it I have no idea.

I have the same issue on firefox as it promps me to install some additional plugin then says "there is no known plugin for this media" which is just odd. I know I have all the conventional plugins like flash, java, etc.

I do have it installed. I need to review it. Some youtube videos I can watch here, some not. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 Quicktime plugin 7.0.1.210 These should be the latest.
