Airbags for M840

Would it be possible to use actual springs in place of the airbags? I have access to and measured the ST180 Bush Whacker tail wheel springs and brackets. It is an easy conversion to this BUT with the constant spring pressure on hookup and unhooking the shelter will this cause an issue? ie pushing the top bolt brackets too far forward that the bottom hook/latches cant hookup first?
