Hi, I'm hàving trouble with my Alt 2 light Flashing when driving. At Idle it barely does it, until revved up. I've rebuilt both alternators, changed the excite wire plugs, all the terminals on the alternators. Changed the bulbs in the dash. Cleaned and repaired the printed circuit board. There was some corrosion on the bulb contacts. When cleaned nothing changed. Everything seems to be charging Good. My volt gauge is right at the end of the green on the line. So I thought maybe it is overcharged but I'm getting 29.2 V at the battery. I put new relays in it.I changed the belts. Both Alt lights come on when the key is on. Could it be the diode for Gen 2 And where is that located. Any ideas on what else it could be? I don't have any wiring diagrams for the truck. I'm new to this site and greatly appreciate everyones help. Thank you

So if its flashing depends on engine speed the problem is the rotor in the alternator. It is not the diode for the alternator. That's up under the dash by the blackout relay. If it was burned you'd have a bunch of different problems. Changing the relays will do nothing if the gen 2 light goes out. It means it's working. You might be able to pick up the flicker if you have a really good dvom on the excitor wire.
