I wracked my brain trying to figure a way to hang that massive spare off of the main frame and not off of the habitat. Unfortunately it is just so dam big. I tried to tuck it up under the rear, but it just would not go in there in any way that didn’t seriously compromise the exit angle more than I was willing to accept... Not to mention just about any way you could do it like that, leaves you with a 350# spare laying on its side that you must drag out from under the truck then stand upright, difficult under ideal conditions…

So I eventually had to settle for the traditional hang it off the back of the box Method. I am going to fabricate a davit with an integral worm drive winch to lift the wheel up and onto a wheel mount from a HEMTT that someone gifted to me.

Good Luck!

Mine has been in the bed for awhile now since I rerouted the exhaust to vertical. No permanent solution is apparent. I installed a cheapo bed crane just to get the spare in and out. Crane Also works for rear backhoe tires as I had to replace mine a couple months ago. IMG_6116.jpeg
