AM General/GEP Longblock 6.5 Diesel Engine

Just curious if anyone in the CUCV community has any experience with these motors?

SSdiesel supply has some on sale for $6999.00 Kind of pricey so I don't think I will be putting one in my M1009 anytime soon.

I was just curious if anyone has dropped one in their M1008 or M1009 and what kind of issues you ran into.

From what I have read it's not your daddy's 6.5 diesel. I think it might also be called the 6500 optimizer???

I have GEP getting me a total price on a Optimizer 6500 shipped to my door. Should be around $5700 with a high flow water pump installed.
Going into my 1999 CUCV-II Pickup.
