After looking for the last 2 years for a proper Duce boarding ladder, I bought one of jwright's van ladders. He had them new in the crate at the MVPA convention for $80, I had seen them before on 6ton vans at Ft Riley at the reset area. I used a 1 1/2 hole saw to modify the tail gate, 1 1/4 or 1 3/8 would have been a tighter fit, but didn't have that size. Still looking in the Midwest for the "correct" ladder with hand rail but this one works fine and the cams lock it to the tail gate.

I cut the lower "ears" off like he had his and put rubber bumpers on the part that goes in the hole and some cut rubber tubing on the bottom. Seems to work ok leaned up against a dropped tailgate or sitting on the top of it.
Nice ladder for the bucks and it's not going to fly out of the back of a deuce roaring down the road at 50 mph
