Another brake light issue

Hey all,
When i have all the lights on, and i press on my brake pedal, the brake lights dont come on until i release the pedal, and then they only come on for a seond until the brake pedal returns to its original position. We have tested all the electric to the brake light switch, and when a 24v hard wire is ran to the lights they come on, so i assume it has to be something with the switch. Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks.

Use an ohm meter and test the switch. It's on the front end of the air pack.

Sounds like your switch is going bad. You can pull it and take a small punch and put it into the switch and see if it moves easily. I've had to replace my brake switch for the exact same reason. My connection on the back of my 3 lever light switch was also loose causing an intermittent problem.

I have repaired some of the 3 lever light switches before. it was just a bad solder joint. they really skimped on the solder in there, so i had all of the solder joints reflowed and cleaned up all the contacts with a little emery (spelling?) cloth. The way the truck is now, i cant get the right front turn signal to work for some reason...:-(

I was having issues on my 932. I decided to just replace the 3 lever switch. Glad I did. When I tore the old one apart is was heavily rusted. Not worth trying to salvage.
