I've been reading about some probes not being up to the job for a pre-turbo install.

Autometer is pretty decent stuff, I've run their probes pre turbo in my DD.

I would rethink the gauge choice though, that guage is probably going to require 12v.

If you look around you could probably find an older ISSPRO mechanical gauge. I got mine brand new for 75 bucks w/ thermocouple. Only power needed is for the light.

My setup is a 70 Autometer K probe and a $30 Stewart Warner Pyro gauge.All off Ebay Brand new.The Gauge has the Green,Yellow,OH CRAP RED face on it so you can just look down and see where the needle is instead of having to figure out the actual numbers.

Spend your money on quality probe(s), which are K-type thermocouples and will work with just about any pyrometer gauge. It's important in a pre-turbo installation that the probe(s) can take the heat and not disintegrate and ruin a perfectly good turbo.

I like Hewitt Industries for the probes.
