Antenna mount

Whats the consences on mounting my antenna on my deuce bed, should I mount it on the drivers side or the passenger side. Pros and cons?

Usually, most radios are mounted on the passenger's side of the truck, on the floor, and it would be shorter cabling to mount the antenna on the passenger side. However, as long as your cables are long enough, either side works.

Is it possible to have longer cables made.

It is, but there are dealers out there with oodles of cables of all lengths, I have seen 50 foot and 100-foot cables for VRC-12 series radios. Would be easier just to buy a longer cable than make one.

There are 15-20 foot VRC 12 series antenna cables, they are pretty common. Should work fine for you.

Two photo samples of where I mounted mine, and the cables were plenty long to connect with the radio base in the cab.
