Hi All

Well still lookin for my first Deuce, seen a few M211's but pretty old and really want a diesel, If anyone north or south of the border knows of any pls PM me and let me know.

I also will check with the border and see if one can be brought up, so not done with that option. I cannot buy from GL as Im not a US citizen wonder if they would let my better half buy one as she is ?? Mmmm ..... well either way will find something decent and cheap I hope, prefer to find one up here for obvious reasons like a AM General etc.

If anyone in Canada has bought in the USA either from GL orprivate and brough one up pls also let me know if this is a posable way of doing it.

If anyone can help either on the north or south side of the border pls let me know as I dont think this military thing is as strong up here ( gee wonder why that is ) guess if they wont let us have real guns maybe they figure vehicles are out of the question too ! LOL

thanks much look forward to readin gmore here its a great site

Found a truck yet?

It doesn't say in your profile where you are located in Canada which would help if you are still looking for a truck.

There are lots of trucks available in Canada as long as you know where to look for them. Like a lot of things, most are either badly advertised, or not at all. Yet that does not mean they are not there.

And as for "the military thing not being strong up here" I have no idea where you got that idea, but it is totally unfounded. There are thousands of collectors across Canada and we have been buying military trucks for as long as they have been for sale to the public. The only big difference between Canadian and American collectors is that we are not very well organized up here and have very few clubs/organizations. Currently there are around 20 or so collector organizations up here while there are hundreds in the US.

Let me know if you are still looking for a truck and I can try to point you in the right direction ;)

Well now that you mention it--- I have been looking around for a 5T dump or a 5T wrecker , I tried on several sites out here but never even got replies. Are there any left up here that have not been butchered? Fellow over in Vancouver has a lot of stuff but he uses them as rental units for movies and tv shows

lol. Sadly the 5ton dumper and wrecker are the hardest to find out of all the military vehicles. It would be easier to find a ferret scout car then one of those.

No, pretty much all of the ones I have found have either been extensively converted to civilian use many years ago, or are in such bad condition that it would cost an enormous amount of money to restore.

I have looked for years for a wrecker but came up empty. I did find one which was in decent shape but still needed a lot of work to bring it back into spec, but the guy wanted $55K for it as-is. You can guess that it never sold and is still sitting in the guys yard.

For a dumper or a wrecker you will have to look states side. I know a person in PA that has several dumpers and a wrecker for sale. I bought my M109 and M35 from him and is a great guy to deal with. I am not sure if I am allowed to post links to companies here, so just PM me if you are interested and I can give you his website and contact info.

Though if you are looking for a big truck, you might also want to look at the MLVW's that started to come up for auction. I just purchased 2 recently and they are to be delivered in my yard tomorrow. You can pick up an MLVW for quite cheap as most people don't want anything to do with the big trucks. They come in several different variations and could be adapted to do pretty much anything. I know they might not be the dumper or wrecker you are looking for, but it's pretty close and the price is right.

Let me know if you want that guy's contact info for the dumpers and wreckers.

hey m109guy you got a link to the auctions for the mlvw's?
So far I have only heard of 2-3 auctions for the MLVW's and they are all over, for the moment. On the east coast there was one in the Montreal area and another in the Quebec City area in October.

I bought my trucks from the guy who won both lots. The lot up in Quebec City was re-bought by someone up in that area who cut them up for parts I am told. The guy wanted just the axles and scrapped the rest sadly :(

The other lot from Montreal is being sold by the buyer. As of yesterday, he has about 28-30 of them left, with about 5-8 of them good just for parts.

The trucks are in good shape and pretty much only really need a good coat of paint to freshen them up. Prices start at $3500 all depending on the equipment installed on the truck (i.e: winch, cages, tarps, AC units, etc).

CanadaDuece, I have a M211 that I had for sale and would reduce the price on it. I have done some work to it since it was for sale. The brakes work well it runs well and doesnt need much work. Has wipers and lites. No rust, repainted. Price reduced to sell. It is a good looking truck. If you have your mind set on a diesel, disregard this post. But if you want a complete duece this one is cheap. I just want to get back the money I spent on it. P.M. me if interested.

Can you get insurance for them in Canada?
Why not? You can get insurance for any vehicle. I have insurance on several of my vehicles. Only problem you can run into is that some insurance companies don't want to give you insurance for anything more than 15 years old. I just called up my insurance company, gave them all the vehicle info (vin number, year, make, model, etc), as well as how much it is worth. Then the only thing they asked me was how much insurance I wanted to put on the trucks. Because I have so many of them, I just give them basic insurance which would cover me in case of an accident.

m109guy - I'd appreciate what info you could send my way as maritmer asked for in an earlier post. I've seen a couple lot's being auctioned on ICAN and they were listed as scrap in the ads. The pics of some were definitely not scrap, but I suspect they just reached their REL. Would love to get a M-36C with the double boom extension Wajax crane. I had one as an MRT at my unit for awhile until it was decided by the powers that be that some other unit needed it more...

I am two hours away from the big TO in Port Colborne. In my travels i have found two M135s, two M211s and a wrecker, all for sale. Plus Niagara Military has a few for sale. I just sold my other duece to a guy from Newmarket. Trucks are available in Ontario, you just have to dig

Man I love them Canadian deuces.. I would love a set of those combat rims! How much do they go for ? Racks, flipped hubs with singles, winches, power steering, different motor.. hard tops...
Guy I bought the trucks from is selling the combat rims with a 90-95% tire for $275 each, which is pretty darn cheap. I bought 2 extra tires/rims with the trucks ;)

Yeah the MLVW's are pretty cool as they have a lot the US M35's do not have:
-Automatic transmissions
-Power steering
-Heaters in every truck
-All hard tops
-Fully insulated cabs and engine compartments
-AC units in some trucks
-Roof racks
-Standard Detroit diesel engines (makes getting parts easy)
-4 heavy duty military grade batteries instead of 2 standard truck batteries (more cranking power)
-etc
