Anyone test their infrared blackout light under NVGs?

I've driven my truck under NOD's quite a bit. The blackout light provides just enough light to drive without NOD's and I've found that it's easier to drive with the blackout light off as it creates too many shadows.

The best thing for driving under Night Vision are actual IR lights. You can replace the blackout light with a military IR light or mount commercial variants often seen attached to HMMWV's, typically from Lightforce Performance Lighting or occasionally Baja Designs.

Tried looking at it with NODs. Didn't really see anything. Was told by someone the light is an LED that is the wrong frequency to show up with goggles, but not sure if that is true.

That BO lamp is not IR, it’s a naked eye BO lamp, meaning….it’s doesn’t shut down an NVG when looked at under NVG and does not affect the naked eyes due to exposure to light at night, at least not the way white light does…the spectrum for NVG has been Blue-Green for some time, in the old days it was Red, but they found blue light is better for the naked eye, I won’t go into the “Rods and Cones” of the eye.
ite been a long time since flew or operated under NOD’s
