SLOTMAN: I have no idea on the value, but I'd say in the upper hundreds. When you do sell it, keep an NOS fuel burning heater kit that I have in mind for the buyer...please. The kit I have even has the hard to find bird cage that keeps passengers from getting burned. JWALLER spoke up about it, but I have not heard from him since about it. As far as I am concerned, it is his until he tells me, but, just in case...please spread the word.

arctic cargo cover

thanks for the reply - sounds like they go together - if you don't mind, when I decide to sell the cover, I will use your name in the ad so that people can contact you about the heater, possibly getting both items together . Also, does anyone have one of these covers on thier truck? If so, how well do you like it?

OMG, Your killing me Larry!!!:-D

I give the man the artic cargo cover because I didn't look at it closely when we sold my brothers deuce to him and it turns out that it was OD Green and in great condition, still in the burlap sack in the wood crate... Since I told him he could have it B4 I looked at it closer I felt that it would be unfair to renig on the situation. Geez... That would have gone great with my 1953 Reo M35 that is green (Which is also up sale - Sorry for the Hijack...)

You know I just have to give you crap for posting the question on the board that I frequent:twisted::twisted::twisted:

Talk to you later,

-Tyler:razz:

Possibly useful info to consider:
My first Deuce came with the arctic cargo cover & multifuel cargo area heater. Seemed like a great idea.
Soon learned that the arctic cover couldn't readily be removed or even rolled up for parades & such.
Every bit a full days work. Real pita.
I took the cover off, but left the heater intact.

SLOTMAN: Do you have the rear door? Is everything there to install this on a truck? Man, that would be a really cool accessory, especially for our friends in the colder areas. No problem on mentioning my name to the buyer or in your ad. Good luck!

My "arctic" Deuce has an insulated floor. There is a layer of 3/4 styrofoam covered with a layer of 3/4" plywood.
There is also a connection by the right headlight to hook up a heater to preheat the engine & batteries.
The cab heater is mounted under the dash, where it works a lot better.
I've seen three different configurations of rear doors. I suspect some were field installed using whatever was available.
Insulated cover is heavy. Mine had two 2x6 rafters under the bows, 1/2' plywood on top of the bows, & a couple of 1x8s were used too, on top of the bows. All bolted together with carriage bolts.

Here's a pic of mine when I first got it. I can't find the one of the rear door setup.
Note the round cap cut into the right side headlight cover. That's where the preheater connects.

Bruce do you still have the heater kit? I just got an arctic top in the burlap bag just removed from the crate. I have been told the rear door was made by the units when they installed the covers and it did not come with the kit. Can anyone confirm this???
