fuel burning heater value

what would an excellent condition fuel burning personnel heater cost? How hard are they to find and are they really that good? How hard are they to install?

The fuel burning heater is an independent system and needs a fuel pump, controller air ducts, exhaust piping in addition to the heater itself.
Not that hard to install, procedures shown in -20 TMs. Old units that have been sitting around for decades may have maintenance issues, see earlier posts, keywords "South wind", "fuel burning" etc.
Cost, probably less than $200 in total.....

The only reason I kept mine on my M275A2 is the cool switch on the dashboard that reads "TURN OFF IN CASE OF ATOMIC ATTACK". Not sure if the new ones you "spotted" still have the "cold war" warning.

NDT, if you use that switch to shut down your heater, the purge cycle will be skipped and fuel will remain within the heater...something to consider when trying to restart it.
