Arctic Heaters in HMMWV

General question about arctic fuel burning kits. What were they rated down to in F? I saw -25F somewhere, but that might have been for the coolant heaters, I don't see how that's even remotely possible given the ones I've used, but the fuel burning ones might be better for even more, right?

I believe the heaters themselves were the same. However, some of the parts associated with the installation were different. I have a fuel burning heater that was intended for a deuce installed in my M925A2. It was the same heater and most of the kit was the same EXCEPT for the wiring harness and the fuel lines. Those had to be lengthened because, on a deuce, they are on the driver's side, while they are mounted on the passenger's side on an M939. There were also quite a few parts that were left over that were not used on the M925A2 (canvas shifter boots...already given to N3UKA, Dave Olchak).

Thanks Bruce! All hail the mighty one!

There are several styles of arctic heaters for the HMMWV. The one that I always liked was called the "Swing Fire" and had additional pieces added on the driver side fender. There are a number of kits out there.

I have a heater but it doesn't have the hmmwv hardware but I'll make it work and try to find the hmmwv mounts sometime. It's cold here and I needed to put one in soon. I'll have to look those up though.
