Armed Forces Day Ft McCoy, WI

I heard that Ft McCoy has pretty nice outing on Armed Forces Day. The problem is that I can't seem to find anything on their website about it. From what it sounds like it should be close to Dozer Days at the Halquist Stone Quarry here by me. I really don't want to pack the family, and mother-in-law in the truck for a 3 hour trip there and then find out there is nothing going on. Can some one shed some light on this for me or tell me where I am blind looking on their website? Or has anyone gone in the past or going this year and knows what I should plan for or expect?

Kenny, I thought dozer days was always in September. I see that they have a landscaping seminar on the 15th. Up at Fort McCoy they have a bus tour of the place. They open up the large building to the South of the equipment park and all of the buildings where we read the history plaques. You see what the barracks , mess hall looked like back in WWII. They usually bring up a couple more MV's for display and there is a few things for the kids to do. Its pretty interesting, I'm thinking about driving my bobbed deuce up.

Paul, Dozer Days is in Sept, it was just the best that I could liken it too. Still working on the wife and mother-in-law to go now.

Does anybody have a real date for this one? I don't know that my truck will be ready for any distance rallies but I would like to try for late summer Wi/Il. I am in SE Wi, 30 min south of Milwaukee. I would love to get back up to Ft McCoy. It has been years since I spent ordinance there.

I suppose I will opt for early. Anyway, I will be going to Iola. I do feel the need to get together with the WI guys this summer. I am very close to the Bunker in Waterford. Thanks for the heads up Dr. Greg!
