Battery Cell Caps

My deuce came with two Exide batteries that appear to be new and have never failed to start the vehicle. I am refurbishing my battery compartment and thought I will charge them since I have not run the vehicle much over the last two months.

Question is: do you remove the cell caps during charging or leave them on?

I leave them on. I do know that on a high current draw, they will blast off and shoot into orbit though. rofl

I would put them on a trickle charge. This will prevent said "Orbital Launch". That is funny gimpyrobb.

You could pop the tops, but this could introduce nasties into the batteries.

To be more specific, the tops popped on mine when I tried to start a vehicle, not when charging them. Still scared the crap out of the guy in the driver's seat though!
