During our recent "hard freeze" in South Texas I had a small leak develop in my fuel tank so I was forced to get it repaired. I had my local welding shop patch and reinforce the holes and then used a KBS Coatings coating kit. It did a great job and while I was working on this spot, I decided to refurbish my battery compartment. It turned out okay and I am now ready to install my BatteryMINDer to keep the batteries in good shape. Here are a few photos:

It is rubber stripping that is used as padding when installing wood beds on old pickup trucks. If was just right size. Put it down with contact cement. I was going to use the web stripping but this worked so much better.

It has been awhile since I ordered mine but this is the link I remember. The part number is 49-9418 and it is item #5 on the page. You may want to call LMC Truck to verify that is stripping is the black rubber. Mine was cut to fit.

I have bobbed my deuce so I am working on a section at a time for refurbishing. The under carriage is all done and my last major mechanical project is to flush the cooling system and change belts and hoses. Then in is on to the refurb of the interior and finally the rest of the external paint. Pics will follow.
