I am looking to get some tires for when i bob one of my deuces. What is the max tire size you guy recommend for this? What is the best height and width?

I am leaning more towards Super singles.

any input is appreciated.

thank you

Chris

This topic has been discussed MANY times in the past. Try the SEARCH function in the Toolbar above.

That said, it also depends if you're going to lift the truck. With lift, 16.00's (52" to 53" tall). Without lift, G20 15.5's, 395/80R-20's, or maybe 14.00's?

Ive got Michelin XML 395/80R-20's on mine , no lift and no clearance issues
I like them, ride well, not bad to turn without air-assist steering

Not to hijack this thread, but I think these questions are valid to this post.

I see the vast majority of bobbed deuces running the 53in tires have no lift at all. (with a couple exceptions of course.) I am assuming there are clearance issues there, but my question is, where are the tires rubbing and is there any other way around those issues minus 8" of lift?

Most of the "factory" bobbed trucks offering 53's dont have lift. I was thinking maybe there was an offset on the wheels that might extend the tire out far enough it isn't rubbing on the frame or body.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Clint,

Where do the 16's rub and what could be done about it other than adding 8 inches of lift like is common opinion? I would like to keep the truck as low as possible, while still having maximum ground clearance.

Thanks for your response.

The 16's will rub just about anywhere, If you stay on the blacktop you will be OK. They rub the J pipe and inner fenders mainly. Even if the wheels have enough offset they will still rub off road. I have only put 1 set of 52's on a M35 truck, and will proably never put them on another unless its lifted. The 15.5's or 14's are far better, and they drive alot better and stop alot better, but thats my 2 cents, there are a few guys here running the 52's on M35's, let them chime in or ask them.
