Brass knob

Hey all,
I did a search and looked through the TMs, and cant find anything on this. On the driver side of the LDT-465-1D engine, near the oil filters, there is a brass knob. Any clue what this knob does? I can take a picture of it tomorrow morning if that helps.

If you are referring to the item circled it is the oil sample port. They used it to take engine oil samples for testing to confirm if the oil needed to be changed.

yes, that is the same location where ours it at, just ours has a different knob style. Thank you!
