Hi I’m looking at M1102 trailers on govplanet I do see some red tape and yellow tape around the front of the trailers. Does that mean anything? One thing I thought of looking at is where the master cylinder is if it’s wet around there, there could be a leaking master cylinder. Is there any other things to look for in the pictures? Thanks in advance

I pulled it behind a hybrid Maverick with a flipped drop hitch. I had one wheel bearing get warm but it was fine once I smeared grease on it. It was a bit bouncy but not terrible. It may have caught some air once on a bridge grate. Looking back on it now I think the tire pressure was a bit low and run flat insert hit the inside of the tread. I had one of those "special" 12v air compressors and it would not depress the schrader valve on the trailer tires. I never had any trouble with it pushing the car around. I did throw some weight in the front (and also in the bed) to keep the tongue down and I made most of the trip home at 53 mph or so. Definitely some grumpy truckers in the right hand lane.

Tape means they're tagged for GP. Pretty common unofficial method used on base.

Primarily look for body damage and rust. They're hardy trailers and beyond a wheel bearing problem you're pretty good towing it home. I've had 60+ of them and only 1 had an issue that I couldn't tow it some safely (tires were blown out).

It seams red tape on the humvee s air lift means it’s a non runner. I thought maybe it meant something was wrong with the trailers. By the looks of them they are barely used tho.

I could vary by location. At LZ Phantom (Formerly Ft Hood) everything with red tape was "divested" and property of GP. I remember when they used the white window markers but they were not easily recognizable and some items got "lost in the sauce".

It is better to have the tires inflated to 30+psi. Higher pressure tires have less sidewall flex, and therefore less heat produced, and less likely to have failure due to heat. Underinflated tires, even in good condition, are much higher risk of failing; just ask Ford.

I brought a pair of old Chevy rollers to tow mine home, to try to get the hitch height down (and lose 300lb of spinning weight) and towed it home with the HMMWV wheels & my jack in it.

I hit an expansion joint on 295 around Richmond, and saw both tires come off the floor. Since the axle is a 7k torsion beam, and the trailer minus wheels is probably hardly 1k, I think you just have basically no suspension empty besides sidewall flex.
