In California the DMV requires a secondary vin number to register. One is on the dash in plain sight but I can't find the secondary. Is there one on my 1988 Kaiser Duece? If I can't locate,I will have to make an appointment with the Highway Patrol and I want to avoid that. Can anyone Help? Thanks Tom:lost:

The vin is stamped into the frame. Check the frame rail at the drivers side front. Hard to see especially if several coats of paint have been applied. Also, good luck on them matching.

For a VIN verification? If so you can go to any COP shop. Call ahead to make sure they know what one is. However, run away if a Commercial Enforcement Officer comes out!

Thanks for the help guys. I found vin numbers on the frame, they are not as long as the ones on a plate inside but the numbers on the frame are the same as the last 6 on the inside plate and that may be enough for the dmv. Thanks again, tom.
