Canvas or Vinyl??

Well, since the cat went through the roof...literally!...I have decided to go from the sweet smell of canvas to vinyl...I am not getting any younger and canvas is H E A V Y! The canvas troop cover I have is in A+ used condition, no rips, tears, pokes, etc., just a bit dusty due to being in the dez twice. The end curtains are in as good condition as the top. My Q is, which is worth more, the canvas or a used green vinyl top with a tear or thread bare at a window...it needs repair?

On topic, i have seen canvas covers for 300-500 bucks, shipping is the problem sometimes due to the weight. It seems to me that vinyl covers are more common. vinyl better-canvas more period correct-IMHO

This is not a for sale item...if it becomes that, it will be put in the classifieds. Just asking for a value for a comparison of the two....for now

I would sew it up and used it till look like your favorite blue jeans, and maybe get another year out of it. But if I had a soft top I go canvas even though they sweat in the rain.

canvas is harder to find and costs more to replace . as to whether you want to run canvas or vinyl is more a preference than a whats better they both are cool in my book .not sure i could take the smell of a new canvas top for very long till it made me sick. i would probably have to hose the thing down a couple times to weaken the smell. i had a insulated vinyl on my truck before i liked it but the soft top was harder to take off than the hard top .so i sold it

Ive sold both on Ebay and the canvas always brings in more money. I would keep the vinyl due to it being more durable and longer lasting.

if you were to buy them new the canvas top cost more than twice as much as the vinyl. and i think that would hold close to true selling them as used to.
