Changing Secondary Fuel Filters

The 20 says to disconnect the fuel lines and remove the aasembly from the engine before changing the filters. Can I just drop the cans as it sits and change them without removing this from the engine?

just drop the cans and replace the filters. no need to take it all apart. Lots of room

Changed the filters last night. Other than dropping one of the top bolts into the bucket that was catching the drained fuel and then looking for it for 10 minutes all went well. The filters were heavily covered with mold/crud so this may help my lack of power and accelerator pedal needing to be depressed down 1/3 start condition. I've already converted the primary to the spin on setup.
