Charging Issue

Working on a 1985 CUCV for a friend. PO converted to 12 volt. Wiring left intact. Converted it back to 24 volt and changed the starter. Cranks fine; no issues. However, only the rear battery is charging (14.7 VDC). I have two alternators that I have had tested good to switch out on the drivers side. I am getting 55 VDC out of either one that I have on the drivers side. No charging of the front battery. Dash volt meter showing in the yellow. Gen 1 light on. I have traced every wire and tested resistance on every charging circuit wire listed but cannot figure this one out. Front battery is new Diehard. I must figure this out in the next week as the vehicle is being shipped to Germany.

Figured it out. Red wire from drivers alt to firewall distribution block was bad. Replaced with a new wire but no fusible link. Likely the link was bad.
.
It would be worth your effort to replace the fusible link.
It burned up for some reason - don't give it a chance to burn your truck to the ground!

If you can't find fusible link local, you can order some online plus some extra for the next one. If they have an assortment that works best. Could be the old connection from that alternator hit ground and cooked.
