Several of us in our MV group have RT-524s with Vic-1s. It seems the RT-524s are frequently failing. Has anyone had luck with either connecting a civilian 6 Meter radio to a Vic-1, OR, connected a civilian 6 Meter radio to an aftermarket intercom system?

Thanks in advance…Bill

Found a solution. By connecting a Wouxun KG-UV7D (with 6 meter capability) to a Rugged Radio Intercomm system (these are used for racing, talking with co-drivers and pit crews) the problem is solved. This Intercomm also allows cell and music access via Bluetooth if one desires. The headsets are well built. This is a cost effective solution an unstable RT-524 or Vic-1 and their cables, or simply can’t find those items. I am testing this setup presently and have found no issues.
